Building Decarbonization Coalition launches revamped Contractor Hub to support California’s heat pump workforce with growing demand
The expanded Contractor Hub provides heat pump trade professionals with a single point of access to beneficial tools, including leads, project galleries, training opportunities, and more ahead of Heat Pump Week 2026.
Sacramento, CA – Today, the Building Decarbonization Coalition (BDC) launched the upgraded Contractor Hub, a free, easy-to-use dashboard that connects California contractors and installers directly with customers ready to start electrification projects, saving time and simplifying the pathway from lead to installation while prioritizing customer experience. The platform also provides tools and trainings to help professionals grow their businesses. This expansion marks the next phase of the platform’s growth to support California’s clean energy workforce, widespread demand for heat pumps, and the state’s goal to install six million heat pumps by 2030.
“Demand for heat pumps is growing, and California’s clean energy workforce must be ready to scale,” said Panama Bartholomy, Director of the California Heat Pump Partnership. “The upgraded Contractor Hub aims to streamline every stage of the installation process while giving heat pump professionals resources to build business capacity and growth.”
The Contractor Hub is hosted by The Switch Is On, a statewide electrification marketing campaign that draws in 300,000 visitors annually. The platform has already enrolled more than 2,500 contractors, generated 20,000 leads, and logged 200,000 searches.
Key features of the Contractor Hub include:
- Business Profile: Manually verified contractor profiles, including exclusive program badges, incentive programs, project galleries, license checks, and more to showcase expertise and industry credentials
- Lead Generation: Access to free, high-intent leads with simple tools to accept, decline, track, and close jobs faster
- Contractor Incentive List: A directory of incentives offered to contractors by manufacturers and distributors, kept up-to-date to make it easier for contractors to pass savings along to customers
Over the next year, the Contractor Hub will expand further with a new suite of features. A rebate tool will help ease administrative burden and expedite payment timelines, while a Training Center will feature a new calendar of in-person and remote trainings hosted by leading manufacturer and distributor partners. The Hub will also introduce a Heat Pump Finder that shows contractors which products qualify for rebates before they quote a customer, removing a common source of confusion from the sales conversation. One of the most impactful upcoming releases will be the Gold Star Contractor program, which will identify contractors who complete high volumes of heat pump installations while delivering top-tier customer service.
The Contractor Hub expansion arrives ahead of Heat Pump Week from April 11–19, 2026, where contractors will showcase their businesses, connect with customers, and access trainings and resources.
